Nottingham Forest transfer news: Porto midfielder linked - report

Nottingham Forest have been linked with a move for Porto midfielder Sergio Oliveira.

According to Portuguese newspaper A BOLA, Oliveira will be allowed to leave Estádio do Dragão this month on a loan deal, with Forest thought to be the likely destination.

The report adds that since Oliveira suffered an ankle injury against Krasnodar in the Champions League qualifier in August, he has struggled to get game time and would benefit from a loan move away.

The 27-year-old started the season as a regular starter for Porto under manager Sérgio Conceição, but has been restricted to just four league appearances despite recovering his injury in the early weeks of the season.

Oliveira plays as a central midfielder, and has scored 10 goals and provided 10 assists in 79 appearances for Porto.

Sabri Lamouchi expects Forest to be busy in the January transfer window, both with incomings and outgoings.

The Forest boss , who watched his side make it three straight wins over the festive period by seeing off Blackburn Rovers  3-2 on New Year’s Day, has recently revealed how many signings he thinks his side needs.

It’s commonly known that Forest are desperate to bolster their attacking ranks, with Rafa Mir likely to return to Wolves after struggling to make an impact during his loan move.

Strikers Dwight Gayle, Che Adams, Glenn Murray and  Lukas Jutkiewicz  have all be linked with moves to the City Ground, and Lamouchi is clear on what he wants this month.
