Nottingham Forest transfer imminent as Leeds United boss makes admission

McGuane deal set to be announced

Nottingham Forest are set to announce the signing of Marcus McGuane tomorrow, according to reports.

Journalist Samuel Marsden, who covers the club for ESPN and Barcelona-based newspaper Sport, says on social media the deal will likely be announced on Monday.

With McGaune's loan side SC Telstar tweeting a message of good luck to the player while tagging the Reds in their post, the transfer looks to be almost complete.

The Barcelona winger has been linked with a move to the City Ground for a while, with the club understood to be waiting on clearance for the move to go through.

Leeds boss makes admission ahead of Forest clash

Leeds United head coach Marcelo Bielsa said he was not frustrated by his side's defeat to Wigan Athletic on Saturday with Nottingham Forest next up.

Forest host Leeds in a mouth-watering Championship clash at the City Ground on Saturday (5.30pm) with both sides losing yesterday in the race for promotion to the Premier League.

Leeds sit in second in the Championship, four points ahead of Forest who were beaten 2-1 by Birmingham City at St Andrew's despite opening the scoring early on.

The Whites, who held an eight-point gap at the top of the League in December, slipped to a second defeat to Wigan Athletic in as many seasons at Elland Road.

Julian Bennett is back with Forest

Former Nottingham Forest player Julian Bennett has re-joined the club as an academy coach.

Nottingham-born Bennett, who came was on the books at the City Ground before moving on to Scunthorpe United and Walsall, re-joined Forest in 2006.

He spent five years at the Reds, making 95 appearances and scoring eight goals before joining Sheffield Wednesday in 2011.

Bennett was at Hillsborough for two years before signing for Southend United in August 2013, where he finished his career.

Fresh prediction that will annoy Reds fans

Nottingham Forest suffered a setback this weekend in their bid for promotion to the Premier League.

The Reds were beaten 2-1 by Birmingham City at St Andrew’s in their latest Sky Bet Championship clash, a result which ended their seven-game unbeaten run.

The defeat sees Forest drop to fourth place in the Championship table, and are now four points behind Leeds United in the automatic promotion places.

Sabri Lamouchi’s side will now gear up to face Leeds at the City Ground on Saturday, in what could be a vital game in the club’s bid to achieve promotion to the top flight.
