Nottingham Forest to send U23s to Lincoln City for pre-season friendly

A Nottingham Forest XI will travel to Lincoln City for the pre-season friendly between the clubs next Monday night (7.30pm).

Under-23s coach Jimmy Gilligan will be in charge for the clash with the Imps, that takes place less than a week before Forest's Championship curtain-raiser against West Bromwich Albion at the City Ground on Saturday, August 3 (5.30pm).

As such, a squad mostly made up of youth team players will travel to Sincil Bank next week instead of the first-team, with Sabri Lamouchi also deciding to field an Under-23s squad for Tuesday night's clash at Mansfield Town.

Forest have already played five pre-season matches, taking in trips to Spain and Greece.

A friendly with Peterborough, due to be played on July 6, was cancelled.

Forest's first-team will now round-off their pre-season on Friday night, with the visit of La Liga side Real Sociedad to the City Ground (7.45pm).
