Nottingham Forest to face Greek club as part of pre-season preparations

Nottingham Forest will face Champions League regulars Olympiacos as part of their preparations for the new Championship season.

Martin O'Neill will take his Reds squad to Greece in mid-July where they'll also face Atromitos as part of a five-day trip, with the Reds boss out in the country this week to visit the Piraeus-based outfit.

Olympiacos, who, like Forest, are owned by Evangelos Marinakis, will take on O'Neill's Reds on July 16, with the other clash set to take place on Saturday July 13 during their stay in the country.

Nottingham Forest set to face League One opposition during Spanish pre-season trip

The Reds will fly to Greece on July 12th before returning to England on Wednesday 17th.

It's also been reported that Nottingham Forest set to face League One opposition during Spanish pre-season trip a week earlier, though that fixture has yet to be confirmed.

Olympiacos finished second in the Greek Super League this season, five points behind POAK Solonika, and will face Forest as part of their preparations for the Champions League qualifiers, while Atromitos finished fourth and secured a place in next season's Europa League.

The Reds are expected to announce further pre-season dates in the near future.
