Nottingham Forest to battle with two European clubs for Dutch left-back - reports

Nottingham Forest have been linked with a move for defender Caner Cavlan, according to reports.

Football Insider are reporting that the Reds are lining up a move for the Dutch left-back, who will be a free agent when his contract at FC Emmen expires this summer.

The report adds that Forest boss Martin O’Neill is in the market for an attacking full-back this summer, and Cavlan fits the bill.

Greek club Olympiacos, who are owned by Forest chief Evangalos Marinakis, are also reportedly in the frame for Cavlan alongside La Liga side Real Betis.

Cavlan signed a one-year deal with Emmen after leaving Heerenveen last summer, and went on to score four goals in 34 appearances for the Eredivisie outfit.

The 27-year-old also netted a brace against his former club in a 2-0 win back in April.

Cavlan joins Kamil Grosicki and Benjamin Siegrist as the latest players to be linked with a move to the City Ground.
