Nottingham Forest tipped to sign Premier League striker

Nottingham Forest have been tipped to sign Glenn Murray.

The Brighton striker is understood to be on the Reds' shortlist of targets in the January transfer window, with head coach Sabri Lamouchi eager to bolster his attack to boost the club's promotion bid in the Championship.

And Forest are in pole position to sign him ahead of several clubs, including Reading, Leeds United, Aston Villa, Celtic and Newcastle United, according to the bookies.

Murray is 4/5 to move to the City Ground with Sky Bet.

Lamouchi hasn’t commented on links to Murray directly, but he has made clear his wish to bring in a striker this month.

“The January window is a difficult market. It is difficult for Forest, but it is difficult for everybody," he said.

“We just need to be patient and try to work.

“I know our people are working hard. They are traveling a lot, they are making a lot of calls and meetings.

“But it is not easy to find the right deal, when you take into account club, players, Championship, target, Premier League.

“It is not easy but we are working hard.

“For sure, a lot of clubs are going to be looking for a striker."
