Nottingham Forest had a disappointing evening at the City Ground on Tuesday night’s Championship clash against Luton Town.
The Hatters took all three points from the game thanks to Ryan Tunnicliffe’s 64th minute goal.
After the game, Forest boss Chris Hughton said that his side paid the price for some wasteful finishing in the first half as they dominated the opening 45 minutes.
“It was frustrating because I thought we were very good in the first half,” he said.
“We started the game well and had some very good chances.
“But when you go through that period and don't take them, then you know the opposition is going to have some of their own.”
The result leaves the Reds in 17th place in the table, 11 points clear of the bottom three clubs, although third from bottom Rotherham United do have three games in hand over Forest due to various suspensions.
The situation in the table is looking a lot better for Forest than when Hughton first took over, with the Reds climbing out and away from the relegation zone.
However, could the result against Luton leave them looking over their shoulders?
According to FiveThirtyEight , Forest have just a three percent chance of relegation from the Championship at the end of the season, although that has increased from two percent this time last week.
Forest will look to again drop that percentage when they take on Watford at Vicarage Road in Saturday’s early kick-off .
Hughton’s men then have a run of difficult games when they take on Reading, Norwich City and Brentford in the next three matches.
Forest then travel to the Cardiff City Stadium to take on Mick McCarthy’s in form team at the start of April.
