Nottingham Forest test could not come at a better time says Blackburn Rovers midfielder

Blackburn Rovers midfielder Lewis Travis believes his side could not be gearing up to face Nottingham Forest at a better time, even with the Reds poised just a point behind league leaders West Bromwich Albion.

Tony Mowbray's side, who are currently eleventh in the Championship, were narrowly beaten on Saturday by Luton Town.

But the 21-year-old midfielder is relieved that his side have the chance to immediately right their wrongs thanks to the quick turnaround of fixtures.

“We can’t beat ourselves up too much because if we do then we will take that negativity in to the game,” he told the club's website.

“We can take positives from the game and put them into the next match.

“When you’re waiting all week you sometimes spend all that time beating yourself up, so it’s great that we have a game around the corner.

“We have to dust ourselves down and go again.”

Forest will go into the weekend expected to come away with a result and build on their impressive start to the season.

Sabri Lamouchi's men are unbeaten on the road this season, despite tough trips to face Swansea, Leeds United, Fulham and Stoke City.

And Travis is well aware that the divisions most feared travelling side will be out to win at Ewood Park.

“Every team in this league is very good, but if we play how we know we can play then we can be successful," he continued.

"We want to push ourselves in every game."
