Nottingham Forest tease new training gear as players return for first day of pre-season

Nottingham Forest returned to training today ahead of the upcoming Championship campaign.

It has been 50 days since the Reds were last in action, when Joe Lolley's strike sealed victory over an already relegated Bolton Wanderers at the City Ground.

Despite missing out on a shot at the play-offs, that victory was the club's third on the bounce and ensured that they ended their season in high spirits.

This coming Saturday, Forest will take to the pitch at the Impact Arena to take on Alfreton Town, before the squad head to Spain for their summer tour.

So today, Martin O'Neill was putting his players through their paces with fitness tests and grueling uphill running drills at nearby Wollaton Hall.

And fans were ever treated to a first glimpse of next season's training gear, as modelled by the players in action.

The Macron strip, with white and grey edging has certainly impressed supporters and has taken their excitement for the upcoming kit launch to new levels.

Matt Wheatley: Running up the hill at Wollaton Hall. Proper old school!

Zak Riley: Rate that training jacket.

Matt Day: Training gear looks great.

Lee: Please let the black on the training tops be an indicator of us going back to the style of our early 90's shirts for the kit launch.

Jack Aylward: Lads back for pre-season training. Showing of the new training kit in the public eye what are your thoughts? Lolley looks ready for another season in red.

Craig Embleton: Training clobber looks peng.

Jack Bryan: This is what I like to see. Football is nearly back.

Olly Bausor: Interesting. First sight of some new training gear! Red, white and black! Nice to see some old faces too, haha!
