Nottingham Forest target Scott McKenna 'not the sort of lad that will get his head turned'

Nottingham Forest target Scott McKenna is not the “sort of lad that will get his head turned”, according to one of the defender’s teammates.

The Reds are understood to have already made one offer for the young Aberdeen ace, as boss Sabri Lamouchi looks to bolster his ranks before the transfer window closes.

And QPR too, are understood to have been unsuccessful with a bid – with both clubs believed to have put forward deals in the region of £3m.

There is no shortage of interest in the promising 22-year-old, with his Scottish team said to value him closer to £10m.

Hull City are said to still be keen after seeing a previous offer turned down, while Stoke City, Aston Villa and Celtic have also tried their luck in the past.

But goalkeeper Joe Lewis says teammate McKenna is not the type of person to let all the interest goes to his head, with the shot-stopper certain Aberdeen “will demand a strong fee” for the centre-back.

“Scott’s a fantastic player and for a young player he’s got a real maturity about him,” Lewis told The London Economic.

“Physically he’s mature and he’s got every attribute you could wish for for a centre-half.

“There’s no surprise clubs are making bids for him, there’s no surprise clubs are interested. It’s credit to himself.

“But he’s not the sort of lad that will get his head turned. Things don’t tend to faze him. He’s got a good head on his shoulders.

“For as long as he’s at Aberdeen Football Club we will enjoy him, and from a selfish point of view I hope he stays but obviously the rest of it is out of my hands.

“Hopefully Aberdeen, should he go, will demand a strong fee for him, which I’m sure they will.”
