Nottingham Forest target Jonathan Kodjia could have played his last game for Aston Villa, according to one of his former teammates.
The Reds are looking to bolster their attacking options during the January transfer window, with the Villa striker understood to be one of those on their shortlist.
Kodjia has made just nine appearances for the Premier League side this season, last featuring in the 2-1 FA Cup defeat to Fulham at the start of the month.
His contract is due to expire in the summer, but the suggestion is his three-and-a-half-year stay at Villa Park
Ex-Villa defender Alan Hutton says it would be no surprise if the 30-year-old moves on before the window closes.
Asked if Kodjia looked to have played his last game for Dean Smith’s team, Hutton told Football Insider: “Yeah, possibly.
“He’s had a tough season this season, we’ve not really seen much of him.
“I thought he’d be ready and waiting in the wings to give it a go if anything did happen to Wesley, but injury, illness, there’s always been something that’s popped up so he’s not available.
“It looks like he will be allowed to leave, that they’ll cash in on him and try to get some money for him.”
