Nottingham Forest 'target' linked with Premier League and Championship clubs

Premier League and Championship clubs are reportedly fighting to land the signature of Leyton Orient forward Macauley Bonne, according to talkSPORT.

Bonne, 23, scored 23 goals in the National League last season as his side were promoted to League Two as champions.

The clinical number nine, who was signed by Orient from Colchester United in 2017, has been on Nottigham Forest's radar for some time, with the club linked heavily with a move back in November.

Tom Lockyer is not a current target for Nottingham Forest

A Zimbabwe international, the striker will partner City Ground defender Tendayi Darikwa as the duo fly off to South Africa for this summer's 2019 African Cup of Nations.

Both have been named in their nation's provision squad for the tournament and are likely to make the final 23-man squad later this month.

But the chances of him remaining an O's forward until then are looking slim with clubs believed to be ready to trigger his £200,000 release clause.

If reports are to be believed, East Midlands rivals Leicester City are one of two Premier League clubs interested in the hot-shot with newly promoted Sheffield United the other.

Charlton Athletic, Sunderland, Sheffield Wednesday and Middlesbrough have also been linked.
