Nottingham Forest target has 'medical booked' ahead of Reds move - reports

Nikolas Ioannou is on the verge of joining Nottingham Forest on a long-term deal, according to reports.

According to the website Thema Sports, the APOEL defender will shortly fly to Athens to undergo a medical before heading on to Nottingham to join up with Sabri Lamouchi’s squad.

A deal worth 750,000 euros is said to have been agreed, with Ioannou set to sign a four-year deal with the Reds.

The left-back has been linked with Forest for months, while Brecia and Arminia Bielefeld are also said to have been tracking the Cyprus international.

The 24-year-old came through the ranks at Manchester United, having been spotted at a football camp in Cyprus and played alongside the likes of Marcus Rashford and Scott McTominay before going on to become the reserve team captain.

Ioannou left United when David Moyes was appointed Alex Ferguson's successor, with a hip problem playing a big part in him not securing a professional contract with the Red Devils.
