Nottingham Forest 'target' former PSG striker Hervin Ongenda but face competition from clubs across Europe

Nottingham Forest have been linked with a move for former Paris Saint-Germain forward Hervin Ongenda.

According to reports in France , Forest are set to battle with Italian duo Chievo Verona and Brescia, as well as Belgian outfit Gent and fellow Championship side Hull City for the forward’s signature.

It has also been reported that Ongenda's contract expires in 2020, with clubs in Turkey also having an eye on the player's situation.

Ongenda currently plays for Romanian side Botosani, who he joined last summer from PSG, scoring four goals in 37 appearances in all competitions in his debut season.

The 24-year-old came through the youth ranks at the French Ligue 1 champions, making his debut back in 2013 in the Coupe de France clash against Arras – he was 17 years old.

He made 12 first-team appearances for The Parisians in total, scoring one goal.

Ongenda has had loans spells at French club Bastia and Eredivisie outfit PEC Zwolle, before completing a permanent move away from Paris last summer.

He plays predominantly as a centre-forward, but can also do a job as a left-winger and as an attacking midfielder.

Forest have already made six signings this summer, five under new manager Sabri Lamouchi, with Sammy Ameobi, Yuri Ribeiro, Tiago Silva, Aro Muric, Alfa Semedo and Albert Adomah all penning deals.

New boss Lamouchi is keen to strengthen his attacking options this summer, with NottinghamshireLive revealing last week that as many as four players have been told they are free to find new clubs.
