Nottingham Forest target drops possible transfer hint on social media

Nottingham Forest 'target' Reggie Cannon has dropped a potential transfer hint on his Instagram account.

The American international is reportedly a target for Forest as they look to further bolster the full-back department before the transfer window closes at the end of this month.

And a glance at the 22-year-old's Instagram activity suggests there may well be more to this link than first thought.

This is because last night Cannon followed the official Forest Instagram page on his reggiecannon1 account, which boasts over 16,000 followers.

At the time of writing, the club did not return the favour and follow the player back.

While this may well be a coincidence - Cannon also follows TSG Hoffenheim and AS Roma on the platform, as well as his current club Boavista - it only serves to add fuel to the fire.

The right-back has yet to feature for his club this season after winning the CONCACAF Gold Cup with his country at the start of this month.

Cannon started the final against Mexico at right-back but was substituted just after the hour mark while the scores were still level in a match that was eventually won after extra-time.

It remains to be seen when, or even if, the American next plays for Portuguese side Boavista again after already missing the club's first two matches of the season following his international commitments.

The defender missed just three of 36 matches for the club in all competitions last season after joining from MLS side FC Dallas in September.
