Nottingham Forest swoop for £25m-rated star, Leeds eye up Arsenal 'wonderkid' as Swansea City receive £2.5m transfer boost - Championship rumours

The latest transfer gossip round-up from across the Championship.

Jansson set for departure from Leeds

Leeds United may be focused on adding players to their squad ahead of a promotion push next season but they are set to lose a key man.

That's according to a transfer report from journalist Phil Hay, who states that the Whites are about to accept a £5.5m bid for Pontus Jansson.

Fellow Championship side Brentford are the favourites to sign the centre-back according to the bookies.

However, Sheffield United are also said to be in the mix and have plenty of money available following promotion to the Premier League.

Jansson featured 37 times for Leeds in the Championship last season and if the Swedish star departs, it would be a massive blow for the Whites.

However, they do already have a replacement lined up - according to reports.

Football journalist Tom Cardnuff has linked 21-year-old Arsenal centre-back Kyrstian Bielik with the club.

Forest to sign £25m-rated starlet

Nottingham Forest are set to beat off competition from the likes of Burnley to secure the services of Alfa Semedo.

The 21-year-old Benfica starlet is looking to develop with more first-team football and Forest are close to the deal.

Semedo’s representative has now revealed to O Jogo that Forest will sign the Bissau-Guinean youngster on a season-long loan.

It's claimed that there is no option to buy him inserted into the deal.

Major boost for Swansea City

Swansea City have just received a big boost thanks to the revelation that Jordan Ayew is on the verge of leaving the Welsh side.

The Swans are keen to get Ayew of a wage bill which is 'crippling' the club.

It's said that Crystal Palace have now agreed a £2.5m deal plus add-ons for the forward, .

Barnsley beat Hull City to Leeds starlet

Mallik Wilks has joined Barnsley on a four-year contract after leaving Leeds United.

Hull City had hoped to come to terms on a deal for the 20-year-old but now Championship rivals Barnsley have swooped in.

"Barnsley made me feel wanted, they were ringing me all the time every day, so it's the best place for me," Wilks told the club's website.

"It's a good club and I know a few of the boys here. It's a good set of lads and they did well last season.

"There's a lot of energy in the group and the style of play suits me, I wanted to take the step up."
