Nottingham Forest swiftly appoint Sabri Lamouchi as new manager after sacking Martin O'Neill

Nottingham Forest have appointed former France international Sabri Lamouchi to replace Martin O'Neill.

Lamouchi arrives at the City Ground after O'Neill was sacked on the eve of the Reds' first pre-season friendly.

Lamouchi is said to be a client of Portuguese super agent Jorge Mendes.

After playing for the likes of Monaco, Parma and Inter Milan, Lamouchi has coached the Ivory Coast national team and Qatari side El Jaish.

Most recently, he was in charge of French club Rennes. Lamouchi, who won 12 caps for France, took Rennes to fifth in Ligue 1 after joining the club in November 2017.

However, he was sacked 13 months later and has since been linked with Nantes and Dijon in his homeland. He becomes Forest's second French manager after Philippe Montanier, another former Rennes boss.
