Nottingham Forest supporters could use mobile phone app to 'send cheers' into behind closed doors stadiums

Nottingham Forest fans could soon be using apps on their smartphone to send virtual cheers, chants, applause and whistles into empty stadiums should the Premier League and EFL decide to host games behind closed doors.

That's according to a report by Sportsmail who claim that Manchester City, Liverpool and Arsenal have already held talks with German web developers over using the app to generate virtual atmospheres in their stadiums.

The app also claims to allow volume control between home and away supporters using the app which clubs hope will address the lack of home advantage on match days.

The 'MyApplause' app has already been tested by two Bundesliga sides with a view to being used in grounds if the German top-flight resumes later this month.

And now Munich-based developers 'Hack-CARE' are now desperate to use the same technology in England.

Reports in the national media last month claimed that Sky Sports and BT Sport have already held talks with playing crowd noise during television broadcasts.
