Nottingham Forest suffer pre-season defeat to Oldham Athletic

Nottingham Forest suffered minor pre-season disappointment as they were beaten 2-0 by Oldham Athletic on Saturday.

The game was played behind closed doors away from the City Ground with Covid-19 restrictions in place, meaning no media attended.

The League Two side, who had already drawn 3-3 with Accrington this week, started the game well as Davis Keillor-Dunn opened the scoring after 15 minutes.

Zak Dearnley got the second goal on the half hour. Forest returned to training on Monday having added Jack Colback, Tyler Blackett and Lyle Taylor to their squad.

The club have not announced who played for Forest, with Oldham, managed by former Notts County boss Harry Kewell, saying the Reds fielded a strong side, especially in the first half.

Elsewhere, Forest Under-23s were beaten 1-0 by Scunthorpe United on Saturday, John McAtee getting the only goal after 49 minutes at Glanford Park.
