Nottingham Forest suffer blow in race to sign former Leicester City striker

Reported Nottingham Forest target Leo Ulloa appears to be heading to Spain this summer.

The Reds had been linked with the 33-year-old striker who currently plays for Mexican outfit Pachuca.

The Argentinian is thought to be keen on a return to Europe, after spending the last year with Pachuca where he has scored 14 goals.

Spanish outfits Real Betis, Leganes and Alaves have also been linked with Ulloa, and fresh reports from Press Association suggesting that a move to La Liga is more likely than a return to England with Forest.

Ulloa is no stranger to life in the East Midlands, having spent four years at Leicester City, scoring 20 goals in 101 outings for the Foxes which saw them promoted to England’s top tier, win the Premier League and play in the Champions League during a remarkable spell at the King Power Stadium.

Forest have already made 10 signings this summer, with defender Carl Jenkinson and goalkeeper Brice Samba the latest additions, with the right-back signing a three-year deal at the City Ground.

Samba and Jenkinson join, Sammy Ameobi, Albert Adomah, Aro Muric, Yuri Ribeiro, Samba Sow, Alfa Semedo, Rafa Mir and Tiago Silva in moving to Forest.
