Nottingham Forest striker Tyler Walker discusses his 'great opportunity' after joining Lincoln City

Nottingham Forest striker Tyler Walker is hoping to make the most of a “great opportunity” after joining Lincoln City.

The 22-year-old will at the newly-promoted League One side and is hoping to pick up from where he left off with Mansfield Town last term.

Walker hit 26 goals in 52 appearances during his spell with the Stags, as they just fell short of securing promotion from the fourth tier.

He is believed to have had a number of clubs chasing his signature this summer, while Reds head coach Sabri Lamouchi is understood to have debated whether to keep the front man at the City Ground for the Championship campaign.

Walker though, is now aiming to continue his progress at Sincil Bank.

“I’m very buzzing to get the deal over the line. It’s a great opportunity for me,” he told the Imps’ official website.

“After last season, I’m looking to kick on again and I’m glad that I am here with Lincoln.

“It’s a big deal for me to try to progress.

“Last season was a good base for me, and this year will be a challenge for me, but I am going to give it my all and hopefully better that here.”

Walker says he spoke to the Imps’ management duo, Danny and Nicky Cowley, following Monday’s friendly against a Forest XI at Sincil Bank on Monday.

“Danny and Nicky were big in bringing me here,” he said. “I came to watch the game against Forest on Monday night and spoke to them after that. That was really positive.

“He’s brought in some really good players that suit the style of play that I want to be involved in.

“I’ve played here a few times and the atmosphere is amazing. It’s intimidating as an opposition player, but to be here for the home team will help and be a massive boost to us this season.”
