Striker Brown Ideye has been speaking about his future, amid being linked with a move to Nottingham Forest.
The 31-year-old currently plays for Greek club Aris but is out of contract in the summer.
The global coronavirus crisis means there is uncertainty about when the transfer window will open, with FIFA having pushed it back so it falls “between the end of the old season and the start of the new season”, whenever that may be.
Brown has previously represented Olympiacos, who, like the Reds, are owned by Evangelos Marinakis and is said to be “in the running” for a move Trentside.
But the former West Bromwich Albion man says he is not looking too far ahead.
“Now that I’m an Aris player, I respect that,” Greek publication Gazetta say he told Yellow Radio.
“When we get to the transfers we will see.
“There are a lot of rumors and I'm not surprised about that.
“I'm not thinking about it next season, before we finish this year.
“In the end we will discuss with the president to see if I will stay or not.
“At the moment I can't answer with a yes or a no.
“I can't make promises from now on, because a lot can change.
“I will discuss with the president what plans there are for next season and we will decide ".
Ideye added: "I'm not thinking about making more money.
“I had better suggestions and I turned them down to come to Aris.
“I am interested in the environment, to be happy - me, my family.
“Aris is a team that every player wants to play and I am happy to be a member. Everything is wonderful here.
“It will be up to the president to decide whether or not to stay.
“If I stay, I will be happy, because I like a lot of things here.”
