Nottingham Forest striker set to leave in loan deal

Tyler Walker is close to joining Lincoln City on a season-long loan.

The Nottingham Forest striker has been the subject of strong interest from Coventry City in recent weeks.

But the 22-year-old, who scored 26 goals while on loan at Mansfield Town last season, is understood to favour a move to the Imps.

That would see him reunited with ex-Red Jorge Grant, who made a permanent switch to Sincil Bank earlier in the summer.

Walker has been given the opportunity to impress in pre-season, with Sabri Lamouchi understood to have been debating whether to retain the services of the product of the Nigel Doughty Academy product, as part of his squad this season.

But Walker is now on the verge of a move to the newly-promoted League One outfit, with Danny Cowley keen to bolster his forward options, following the departure of Matt Rhead to Billericay in the last few weeks.

Walker is a very different type of forward to 6ft 4in Rhead, but Forest will hope he will continue his development by proving that he can score goals in the third tier, in the coming campaign.
