Nottingham Forest youngster Will Swan is said to be the subject of interest from Ipswich Town.
The League One outfit are “weighing up a loan offer” for the striker, according to the East Anglian Daily Times.
A regular for the youth sides, Swan has broken into the Reds first-team this season.
He was handed his senior debut by Chris Hughton in November, when he came off the bench in the 1-0 defeat to Swansea City.
He has been among the substitutes several times since then and got another runout against Reading last month.
That saw him rewarded with a new long-term contract at the City Ground, putting pen to paper on a deal which lasts until 2024.
Tractor Boys boss Paul Lambert has spoken of his hopes of bringing in a “young” striker on loan before Monday’s deadline.
And the Daily Times claim Swan has been earmarked as a potential target, with the 20-year-old having found himself out of Hughton’s matchday squad in recent weeks.
Lambert has said of looking to bring in a forward: “We’ll see if we can get a young one in. It has to be that because of the way the salary cap is.
“We can’t go out and buy Cristiano Ronaldo. It has to be a young one. And that’s if you can get them.
“We’ve tried for a couple that we lost out on to other teams. We’ll try again."
