Nottingham Forest striker Jason Cummings reveals another bizarre nickname

Nottingham Forest's Jason Cummings has revealed another bizarre nickname.

The Reds striker, who is on loan at Luton Town, previously gave himself the moniker ‘Cumdog’ while he was at former club Hibernian, as he was filmed jokingly grappling with wrestling star Grado.

But his latest tag is even more peculiar.

Cummings came off the bench for the Hatters at the weekend and netted an all-important last-ditch equaliser to clinch a 2-2 draw at home to Blackpool.

That point extended Luton’s unbeaten run to 28 games and puts them eight points clear of nearest chasers Barnsley at the top of League One.

Cummings was compared to Manchester United great Teddy Sheringham by manager Mick Harford, for his substitute exploits.

However, the 23-year-old responded by saying it is another Old Trafford legend who he has been likened to in the past.

“Teddy Sheringham? He’s not really my era,” he told Luton’s media team, as quoted by the Daily Record.

“I used to get called Ruud Van Nistelrooy. Ruud Van Cumdog I used to get called.

“But Teddy Sheringham? I’ve never been compared to Teddy, but I’ll take it.”

Cummings has had to wait for his chance with the Hatters.

Nottingham Forest loan watch: Tyler Walker hailed after netting 24th goal of season for Mansfield Town

He spent the first half of this season on loan at Peterborough United, before switching to Kenilworth Road in January.

Saturday was only his Nottingham Forest loan watch: Tyler Walker hailed after netting 24th goal of season for Mansfield Town, and the first time he has found the back of the net.

“I was absolutely buzzing to come on and get a goal,” he told the club website. “It was hard for us, going down to 10 men and then they scored five minutes after, which was even worse.

“Whenever I’m called upon I’m going to come on, try to score and give 100 percent. I managed to get the goal and keep the unbeaten run going.

“I’ve been champing at the bit for weeks, but we’ve not been beaten in so many games. (James) Collins has been different class; Kaz (Kazenga Lua Lua) has come in and been different class, so I can’t really complain that much.

“But I’ll take two minutes, three minutes, whatever I can get; I can come on and do my best for the team.”
