Nottingham Forest striker Hillal Soudani pictured arriving in Greece 'ahead of Olympiacos medical'

Nottingham Forest striker Hillal Soudani has been pictured arriving in Greece as he looks set to complete a move to Olympiacos.

The Algeria international has only been with the Reds 12 months, having switched to the City Ground from Dinamo Zagreb last summer.

But after an injury-plagued first season in the Championship, he is on the verge of joining the Greek giants, who, like Forest, are owned by Evangelos Marinakis.

Soudani landed at Athens International Airport this afternoon, with a reporter from Greek media outlet Sport 24 photographing the forward as he made his way from the arrivals lounge.

They state he is expected to undergo a medical in the next few hours ahead of putting pen to paper on a proposed deal.

It means Soudani is likely to sign off from his time with the Reds with a total of eight appearances and two goals  – and with just a single league start to his name, from the 2-2 draw at home to Birmingham City in August.

He made a promising start to his time on the banks of the River Trent, finding the net twice in five outings during the month of August, against Reading and Wigan Athletic.

But a knee problem then saw him miss two months of action, before a reoccurrence of the injury ended his season early, during the Carabao Cup defeat to Burton Albion back in October.

That looks likely to be his final game in the Garibaldi as since then he has undergone a long period of rehabilitation, including at the Aspire Centre in Qatar.

He has not had chance to catch the eye of Forest boss Martin O’Neill, who took charge in January, and the Northern Irishman will be looking to trim numbers this summer as he aims to put his stamp on the squad ready for a promotion push.
