Nottingham Forest striker Hillal Soudani could 'soon' become an Olympiacos player

Nottingham Forest striker Hillal Soudani could “soon” become an Olympiacos player, according to reports.

The Algerian was linked with a move to the fellow Evangelos Marinakis-owned club over the weekend.

And now Greek outlet SDNA claim it “cannot be ruled out” that Olympiacos will “soon make him their own, as the issue seems to have gone on”.

Soudani has not played for the Reds since October, when he suffered a knee injury during the Carabao Cup defeat to Burton Albion.

He has posted regular updates on social media about his recovery, having completed part of his rehabilitation in Qatar.

SDNA claim he is now “looking for a restart in his career” and Olympiacos are trying to “convince him” to make the move to Greece, with talks already said to have taken place.

They add “there will soon be developments on this subject”.

Soudani made the move to the City Ground from Dinamo Zagreb last summer, penning a three-year deal with the Championship club.

But an injury-hit campaign saw him make just eight appearances in the Garibaldi, scoring two goals.

In his first full transfer window on the banks of the Trent, Forest boss Martin O’Neill will be looking to put his stamp on the squad as he prepares for a promotion push - and that is likely to include some departures as he looks to trim numbers.
