Nottingham Forest star sums up what fans are thinking as away army gets set for Stoke

Praise for the manager

Nottingham Forest under Sabri Lamouchi “feels right”, according to winger Joe Lolley.

Lamouchi has made an instant impact at the City Ground and Lolley has summed up the mood of the fans and the players towards the popular boss.

The Frenchman is the third manager Lolley has worked with since making the move to the City Ground in January 2018, having replaced Martin O’Neill in the summer.

He has overseen a promising start to the season, with the Reds going into Friday night’s clash at Stoke City knowing they could top the Championship table if they claim three points.

And Lolley hopes positive results will mean a period of stability off the pitch.

“I really hope so. It’s a lot for the club when you’ve got a bit of stability,” said the 27-year-old.

Injury latest

Striker Rafa Mir could be in contention to make the Nottingham Forest squad which travels to Stoke City tomorrow night.

The Wolverhampton Wanderers loanee has missed the last three games with a leg injury, but could be back among the substitutes against the Potters.

Lewis Grabban has been the only out-and-out front man available to head coach Sabri Lamouchi since the Reds returned from the last international break.

Mir has been back-up to Grabban since his arrival at the City Ground, but his return would give Lamouchi an option from the bench as his side have the chance to go top of the table with a win at the bet365 Stadium.

Chance to go top

Head coach Sabri Lamouchi says it is “not important” whether Nottingham Forest are able to claim top spot in the table tomorrow night.

Victory over Stoke City would see the Reds go from sixth to first in the Championship standings.

But with only eight games of the season gone, the Frenchman insists topping the table at this point counts for little.

“Going top would just be symbolic for me,” Lamouchi said.

A sell-out

Almost 12,000 away fans will have watched Nottingham Forest on the road this week by the time Friday night’s game at Stoke City has finished.

The Reds have now sold-out of all 2,931 tickets for the televised clash at the bet365 Stadium as they look to keep their unbeaten run in the Championship going, knowing a win would take them top of the league, albeit for a few hours.

With almost 3,000 travelling to the Potteries, coupled with the 8,397 which made the lengthy journey to Arsenal on Tuesday night, 12,000 spectators will have seen Forest in action this week – an impressive statistic.

Not only that, with Stoke expecting a crowd in excess of 20,000 for the Championship date as they seek their first league win of a troubled campaign, Forest’s three games this week will have been seen live by more than 100,000 fans.
