Nottingham Forest star pays tribute to West Bridgford Colts youth player

Nottingham Forest's Joe Lolley has paid a personal tribute to West Bridgford Colts youth player Dylan Rich, who died at the weekend.

Lolley took to social media after featuring for Forest Under-23s to leave "our tribute" to the 17-year-old, who became seriously unwell during an FA Youth Cup tie on Thursday.

Lolley scored twice for the Under-23s on Monday evening as they started their Premier League Cup run with a 4-1 win over Blackburn Rovers.

Ateef Konate and Will Swan were also on the scoresheet at Meadow Lane to seal a win that takes Forest top of Group B, which also includes Middlesbrough and Queens Park Rangers.

In a message posted on Instagram, Lolley said: "Really enjoyable evening being involved with the young lads and all the staff.

"Pleasure to be involved and also hopefully this was our tribute to young Dylan Rich who sadly passed away (on Saturday)."

Clubs across the region have been paying tribute to Rich.

Forest posted a message on Twitter, which read: "Everyone at Nottingham Forest sends their condolences to Dylan’s friends and family following this devastating news."

Notts County also paid their respects, expressing that their "thoughts are with Dylan's family, friends and team mates."
