Nottingham Forest star makes pledge to die-hard Reds fan after tattoo promise

Whether this season's Championship campaign ends in promotion or not, it will live long in the memory of Nottingham Forest supporters.

Sabri Lamouchi's men are just two points behind second-place Leeds United in the race for the Premier League and will take on table-toppers West Brom on Saturday knowing a win will boost their promotion dreams to new heights.

On of the many stars for Forest's season has been Matty Cash.

Nobody would have expected the midfielder-turned-right-back to make the impact that he has this term with many expecting the 22-year-old to have to fight for a spot in the starting eleven.

But he has instead proved himself to be a vital piece in the Lamouchi puzzle and has even attracted reported interest from AC Milan, Everton and West Ham United.

And his hard work has not gone unnoticed amongst Reds supporters too with one die-hard City Ground fan going to extra mile to show his love for the number eleven.

The Forest fan, who met Cash at the City Ground on Saturday, asked his hero to sign his signature on his forearm, which he obliged, before heading to the tattoo studio to get it permanently inked into his skin.

He wrote: "Thanks for signing my arm on Saturday. I told you I would be getting it done today. #11 but my #1."

And Cash replied: "Send me your postcode, that deserves a signed shirt!"

This isn't the first Forest hero inspired tattoo this season. Another Reds supporter, earlier this term, ended up landing a tattoo inspired by 'keeper Brice Samba.

Luke Webster tweeted Samba, saying: “Clean sheet tomorrow [against Derby County] and I’ll get a tattoo of your name on my arse."

The 25-year-old custodian, who joined the club in the summer, duly did just that, keeping the Rams at bay in what was just his third appearance in the Garibaldi.

Samba subsequently quoted the original tweet, writing: “It’s spelled “S A M B A””, including a crying with laughter and a winking emoji for good measure.

And Luke got the tattoo done, and secured tickets to see his team in the next round of the cup,  away to Premier League giants Arsenal, for his pain.
