Nottingham Forest signs two-year deal with nutrition brand The Skinny Food Co

Nottingham Forest have signed a partnership with healthy nutrition brand The Skinny Food Co.

The Nottingham-based business will become official back-of-shorts partner of both the men’s and the women’s team for at least the next two seasons.

As well as having its logo on the players’ shorts and on retail kits, The Skinny Food Co has also acquired wider partnership rights with Forest, such as LED perimeter advertising and digital promotions.

It will also have the chance to offer Forest fans offers and promotions throughout the season.

Founded in 2018 by Wayne Starkey and James Whiting, The Skinny Food Co is stocked in big chains including Morrisons, Co-op, Home Bargains, TK Maxx, SPAR, B&M Bargains and Lidl, and in more than 30 countries worldwide.

Its range of food and drinks alternatives stretches to more than 210 products, and is aimed at fitness and sports enthusiasts, parents and their children, diabetics, vegetarians and vegans, and people with food intolerances.

David Cook, Nottingham Forest chief commercial officer said: “We are thrilled to be working with The Skinny Food Co ahead of the 2021-22 season.

“Since our first discussions with Wayne and James, it’s been fantastic to learn more about their story, their significant growth over the last few years and also their passion for football.

“We pride ourselves on being forward thinking and innovative as a club, and it’s clear that these are core beliefs shared by The Skinny Food Co. We look forward to playing our role in helping this family friendly brand to continue to go from strength-to-strength.”

James Whiting said: “As a sports fan myself, especially football, it’s an incredible feeling for me and a huge achievement for the company. If you had told me three years ago that we would be sponsoring such a famous team like Nottingham Forest, I’d never have believed you.”

“We look forward to working with such a dynamic and ambitious team and hope to see our relationship develop further in the coming seasons. We’re excited to continue to grow with Nottingham Forest and this partnership will really help us achieve our ambitious marketing and business objectives.”

Wayne Starkey said: “For us to sponsor such a recognised and prevalent team with such a widespread fan base right on our doorstep is incredible. Not only will this aid us to continue to increase our strong local presence in Nottingham and surrounding areas, but to be a part of a team with such deep-rooted and ingrained history within this city is an amazing feeling.

“We’re looking forward to supporting our local team and are excited to work alongside the community to continue to help others live healthier, active lifestyles.”
