Nottingham Forest have rejected rumours that the club is up for sale.
Speculation on social media had suggested the Reds could be offloaded by owner Evangelos Marinakis and that it had been on the market for two months.
But the Reds have denied that is the case with Marinakis keen on restoring the Reds' fortunes despite their current struggles on the pitch this season.
Journalist for the Athletic, Paul Taylor, said: "NFFC are briefing that the club is not for sale. There had been a few rumours to the contrary doing the rounds on here."
Forest have endured a poor start to the campaign in which they are languishing in the bottom four of the Championship despite Marinakis heavily investing in the squad which led to some stellar talent arriving in the summer.
Sabri Lamouchi was sacked in October after a dismal start to the campaign which came just several months after the club blew the chance of a top-six finish despite having been odds on to challenge for promotion to the Premier League.
Chris Hughton was immediately appointed after the Frenchman's departure, but the former Brighton and Norwich manager has yet to spark Forest into life.
Despite his impressive track record, he is yet to be repaid with performances on the pitch although there were some encouraging signs as the Reds held promotion-chasing Watford to a goalless draw on Wednesday.
They travel to Reading tomorrow hoping to clinch a crucial three points in the early kick-off with the game being screened live by Sky Sports.
Marinakis, who also owns Olympiakos, bought Forest from previous owner Fawaz Al Hasawi three years ago and has spent millions on trying to lead the club back to the top flight.
He has appointed four managers during his time at the club with Aitor Karanka, Martin O'Neill, Lamouchi and now Hughton all being given the chance to restore Forest's fortunes.
