Nottingham Forest show 'strong interest' in Liverpool defender as part of double transfer deal - report

Nottingham Forest are said to be interested in a double transfer deal with Liverpool.

The Reds are keen on Nat Phillips and Sheyi Ojo as they look to strengthen their squad for another assault on promotion to the Premier League, according to Goal.

Forest are said to have shown "strong interest" in Phillips, but face competition from several rival Championship clubs, including Stoke City, Middlesbrough and Swansea.

It is believed Premier League champions Liverpool are ready to let the pair leave Anfield this summer, either on loan or permanent deals.

Centre-back Phillips, 23, spent last season on loan at Stuttgart, being recalled temporarily by Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp because of injuries and making his first-team debut for the club in the FA Cup against Everton.

Winger Ojo, also 23, spent last season on loan at Rangers under Steven Gerrard.
