Nottingham Forest set to overtake Tottenham with huge Morgan Gibbs-White transfer

Nottingham Forest will overtake Tottenham in the most money spent on summer signings table in the Premier League if Morgan Gibbs-White's deal goes through.

The Reds have agreed a deal to sign the 22-year-old from Wolves, with the initial fee said to be £25million plus add-ons. This could take the overall fee a little over £40m.

Should all go as expected, Gibbs-White will become the club's 16th summer signing in a hectic window at the City Ground. This would mean that Forest will become the second highest spending club in the top flight this summer with £143.5m, overtaking Spurs on £130m.

Chelsea are top of the table, having spent £176.5m on new additions under new owner Todd Boehly. Spurs have spent just under £9m more than Arsenal (£121.5m).

Meanwhile, West Ham have spent £112.95m and reigning champions Manchester City, £112.1m.
