Nottingham Forest set to miss out on Harry Wilson as they rival Derby County - reports

Nottingham Forest and Derby have submitted formal loan offers to sign Liverpool winger Harry Wilson, but they are both set to miss out according to reports.

Yesterday it was reported the Reds are keen to bring in the Wales international on loan, with Welsh rivals Cardiff City and Swansea City also keen.

Now Football Insider claim the East Midlands rivals have made the first move with Liverpool looking to secure a multi-million pound loan fee for the 23-year-old.

However, Goal say Swansea are the favourites to land Wilson after former Liverpool striker Rhian Brewster enjoyed a brilliant spell there under Steve Cooper's guidance last season.

It would be a major coup to land Wilson, with the 23-year-old having shone during a loan spell at Derby two seasons ago as they made the play-off final.

Wilson scored 18 goals in 49 appearances before notching seven in 35 games on loan at Bournemouth last season as they were relegated from the Premier League.

Forest are keen to sign a winger before Friday's transfer deadline with Anthony Knockaert, Christian Atsu and Kamil Grosiki all strongly linked.

Goal also say Forest and Middlesbrough are keen to sign Liverpool central defender Nathaniel Phillips, 23, on loan before Friday's deadline.
