Nottingham Forest are keen on getting a closer look at midfielder Jake Taylor before making a decision on his future.
Taylor spent last season on loan at Port Vale, where he made 25 appearances and scored one goal while registering an assist.
According to NottinghamshireLive's sister title in the Potteries, Stoke-on-TrentLive, Forest will run the rule over Taylor during pre-season before deciding whether keeping him around or sending him back out on loan.
That is standard practice for clubs in the higher divisions looking to loan players out.

The Reds would like to take a closer look at the attacking midfielder, who has already been interesting League Two and League One clubs after impressing during a match behind closed doors last week.
Vale boss John Askey has already conceded that the chances of bringing Taylor back to League Two play-off chasers such was his form at Vale Park.
“I think it was always going to be difficult with Jake with him doing well for us," Askey said earlier this month.
"I think Forest are going to be looking to get him playing in League One, and I am sure there will be interest for him in League One.
"We couldn’t afford to wait around forever so it was important we try to get a settled squad as soon as possible."
Former Manchester United youth Taylor has yet to make a senior appearance for Forst.
He scored five goals in 18 League Two appearances for Vale, whose season was ended early because of the coronavirus pandemic.
