Nottingham Forest are set to face League One opposition later this summer, as part of their preparations for the new Championship campaign.
Martin O’Neill’s Reds are expected to take on Darren Ferguson’s Peterborough United in La Manga during their pre-season trip to the Spanish destination.
It’s believed the Reds will be tested by Posh on Saturday, July 6 with both clubs understood to be close to finalising the fixture in the near future.
Forest are yet to publicly confirm their pre-season plans with no fixtures so far announced, though it has been suggested that they will face Atromitos, with the Greek outfit said to be keen to take on O'Neill's men at their Peristeri Stadium, with a date of July 13 being proposed.
Atromitos are said to be looking to take on strong opposition in advance of their Europa League qualifiers after finishing fourth in the Greek Super League.
And it is claimed O’Neill’s men will also play a prestigious friendly against fellow Evangelos Marinakis-owned club Olympiacos in mid-July.
