Nottingham Forest set to beat Derby County & Leicester City to exciting young talent - reports

Nottingham Forest are reportedly set to beat East Midlands rivals Derby County and Leicester City to the signing of promising youngster Dale Taylor.

According to the Belfast Telegraph, the Linfield youngster is set to complete a move to the City Ground after Sabri Lamouchi's side stole a march on Derby and Leicester.

Leeds United are signing Taylor's Linfield team-mate Charlie Allen with the pair interesting clubs in England and Scotland.

The report adds that the deals are set to be rubber-stamped soon despite the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on the transfer window.

Soon-to-be Forest striker Taylor is a Northern Ireland Under-16 international and made his first-team debut for Linfield this season, coming off the substitute's bench to score his maiden goal against Cliftonville in October.

Former Leeds, Sunderland and Fulham striker David Healy is currently manager at Linfield and spoke about Taylor's promise last year.

"Dale has a really bright future," he said.

"He's a chunk of a lad and is a strong, tough boy and tough mentally.

"Dale has all the attributes."

Forest already have some top talent in their academy and recently brought in 18-year-old Julian Larsson from Swedish side AIK.

The Reds have also seen players like Alex Mighten, Arvin Appiah and Brennan Johnson graduate from the Nigel Doughty Academy in recent years.
