Changes are afoot at Nottingham Forest as a reshuffle behind the scenes is on the horizon.
Dane Murphy is expected to take up the position of CEO at the City Ground, with his contract at Barnsley at an end - which leaves him clear to make the switch to the Reds.
The 35-year-old's expected arrival, which is unlikely to happen before next week, is part of a summer overhaul at Forest, both on and off the pitch.
Ioannis Vrentzos has come under fire from supporters during his four years as Forest chief executive for the club’s recruitment strategy, as well as overseeing a significant turnover of managers.
Talking transfers
Nottingham Forest have a big few weeks ahead as changes are set to take place on and off the pitch.
The Reds have yet to make any new additions in the transfer window, but incomings and outgoings are expected as boss Chris Hughton looks to put his stamp on the squad.
And a reshuffle behind the scenes is planned, with Dane Murphy expected to take on the role of CEO.
With the players back in pre-season training and the countdown on to the start of the new campaign, Matt Davies and Sarah Clapson discussed the latest goings-on in a live broadcast on our Forest Facebook page.
Here’s how it played out.
Aiming high
Nottingham Forest youngster Alexandros Sarantis has spoken of his ambitions for the future, as well as the challenges of adapting to English football.
The 17-year-old midfielder is part of the Under-18s set-up at the City Ground after joining from Greek side AEK.
He is eager to continue his progress into the Under-23s but says making the change to living and working in a different country hasn’t always been easy.
“I am certainly very ambitious, but I do not fly in the clouds,” he told Greek outlet Sportime, in a translated interview.
Fixture changes
Two of Nottingham Forest’s matches in the opening month of the new season have been selected for live TV coverage.
And that means changes to the fixture schedule for the Reds as they prepare for the upcoming Championship campaign.
Chris Hughton’s side will get up and running for 2021/22 against Coventry City on the opening weekend.
That clash was due to take place on Saturday, August 7, but has now been moved to the following day.
