Nottingham Forest sent Newcastle demand ahead of Premier League clash

Nottingham Forest have been told to make the most of two Premier League results going in their favour when they take on Newcastle United on Friday night.

The Reds are in the midst of a tough fight for survival at the bottom of the table. Two other teams involved in the battle, in Southampton and Crystal Palace were in action on Wednesday night.

The Saints hosted high-flying Brentford at St Mary's, while Crystal Palace made the journey to Brighton. Much to the delight of Forest fans, both teams fell to defeat, Southampton losing 2-0, and Palace losing 1-0.

It means that the Reds maintain a four point gap to bottom-of-the-table Southampton, while also staying just one point behind Palace in 12th. Both teams have now also played one game more than Steve Cooper ’s side.
