Nottingham Forest sent Luton Town warning ahead of ‘tough’ Championship clash

Luton Town manager Nathan Jones has warned Nottingham Forest that his team will be tough opposition when they visit the City Ground.

Forest are gearing up for the Championship clash against the Hatters on Tuesday night as they look to extend their unbeaten run to five league games.

The Reds drew 1-1 with Reading in their last outing, while Luton fell to a 2-0 defeat against Queens Park Rangers, a result which Jones doesn’t think reflected the game.

“We’re so close to being a very good side,” he said (via LutonToday ).

"We’re an aggressive side and we’re creating a lot of chances.

"We’re fourth, fifth top scorers in the league, but we haven’t got the points that we should have.

"And that’s because one, we don’t put teams to bed and two, we tend to concede at times to the only chance we concede.

“That’s been a problem because don’t give up many chances.

“We’re very good statistically, it's just when teams do have a chance they score.

“If we demonstrate the same level of quality we’d be top four, but we’re not, so we can’t say if.

"We’ve just got to keep going, keep positive, because there's a very good side there, it's just everything has to come together.”

The Luton boss also praised the job that Steve Cooper has done since arriving at the City Ground, and has called on his side to change one thing from the weekend’s performance.

“Coops has done really well,” he added.

"I’ve know the previous two managers now, but it’ll be a tough game.

"It's another away game, but we’re in an element of decent form, it’s just we have to make sure that we are a little bit more disciplined.”
