Nottingham Forest's rivals think Reds are 'completely different' under Chris Hughton

Former England duo Rob Green and Darren Bent have backed Chris Hughton to shine at Nottingham Forest and say his "consistency" and "stability" will help the Reds to soar.

Hughton registered Forest's first win of the season at the weekend as his reign got off to the perfect start with a 1-0 win at Blackburn.

It is hoped the Reds can follow that up with another three points against Rotherham at the City Ground tonight as the Reds look to bounce back from an awful start that led to Sabri Lamouchi's sacking.

And speaking on Sky Sports, former England goalkeeper Green feels Hughton will bring two crucial elements to the Reds.

“They got a win on Saturday, albeit a fortunate one," said Green.

“You look at the nature of the club and how it’s been.

"What Chris Hughton brings is consistency, wherever he’s been his team have always had defensive stability too.”

Former Derby striker Bent believes Forest's poor start was a hangover from last season when they blew a top-six finish on the final day of the season.

But he is confident the Reds will turn it around and feels their Championship rivals will already thinking they are a different propostition.

“They never really recovered, they didn’t score for the first three or four games and were shipping goals left, right and centre," said Bent.

“I think now they’ve got Hughton he will go in there, bring that defensive stability and I think plenty of teams will be thinking that Nottingham Forest are a completely different outfit now.”
