Nottingham Forest's remarkable sold out City Ground support continues

The City Ground will be sold out for a sixth time in seven Championship games as Nottingham Forest host Swansea City on Saturday afternoon.

It’s the first meeting between the two clubs on Trentside since their 0-0 draw in the first leg of the 2011 play-off semi-final, which the Welsh outfit ultimately prevailed in after a 3-1 success at the Liberty Stadium.

The 250 remaining tickets were snapped up on Friday morning ahead of the visit of the Swans, meaning the Reds’ remarkable average this term of more than 28,000 will be maintained.

So far this season, Forest’s 19 home games in the second tier have attracted an average crowd of 28,201 with only Aston Villa (35,051) and Leeds United (33,676) above them.

Such has been the feel-good factor around the City Ground in the last 12 months, supporters have continued to back the Reds, with more than 21,000 season tickets sold - a club record.

And since going on sale earlier this month, the Reds have sold in excess of 10,000, with more than 4,000 bought on the opening day of sale alone.

The curious case of Claudio Yacob - a forgotten man at Nottingham Forest who looks 'every inch' a perfect player for Martin O'Neill

So far in 2019, games against Leeds, Bristol City, Wigan Athletic, Derby, Hull and Aston Villa all sold out, while the win over Brentford still saw an impressive 27,829 watch Molla Wague seal the 2-1 victory last month.

After Saturday’s game with Swansea, Martin O’Neill’s men have just three home dates remaining, with Blackburn Rovers, Middlesbrough and Bolton completing the regular Trentside campaign.
