Nottingham Forest's Nicholas Ioannou at centre of fresh transfer claim

Nottingham Forest defender Nicholas Ioannou has emerged a shock transfer target for Aris who want to bring him to Greece with Reds striker Miguel Guerrero.

Ioannou only signed a three-year contract at the Reds in the summer following a high-profile switch from APOEL but the former Manchester United defender's future is already in the spotlight.

Reports in Greece claim Aris are big admirer of the Cypriot international as well as Reds striker Guerrero and are keen to lure the players out of the City Ground next month.

According to Cypriot outlet Goal, Aris have targeted Ioannou because of the form of Christan Ganea.

They say: "In terms of defense, they are not satisfied with the level of response of Christian Ganea (recognizing that the Romanian used to play in a different system and more with the role of left midfielder) so the left winger Emanuel Sakic is used in the left wing.

"For the same reason it was deemed necessary to add a left-footed player for this side.

"Information from gazzetta.gr states that at the top of the list of people is the 25-year-old Cypriot, Nikolas Ioannou, who belongs to Nottingham Forest as he was transferred to the English club last September."

Ioannou has not featured for Hughton in recent weeks with his last outing being at Luton Town where he was sent off and he has not played since

And according to the same report, Aris are now claimed to have asked about the defender's availability to help their own defence and see his versatility as being useful given he can also play as a centre-back.

What do you think about Ioannou? Should Forest cash in or should they give him more time?
