Nottingham Forest's form against 'top teams in the league' makes Preston boss wary of City Ground clash

Preston North End boss Alex Neil says his side will have to be at the top of their game to beat Nottingham Forest on Saturday.

The Reds have turned heads in the Championship this season, taking four points from away trips to Leeds United and Fulham, while comfortably putting aside Birmingham City.

Preston have also impressed, beating Sheffield Wednesday and Stoke City as they climbed to sixth in the standings.

But Neil is still wary of the threat Sabri Lamouchi's impressive Forest will bring as they look to extend their unbeaten run to seven games.

"(Forest) have played some of the top teams in the league so far and had some good results," said Neil.

"They will be in a good place mentally and we will have to play very well this weekend.

"It’s been a good week for us with two wins and obviously the cup draw which is a boost for everyone so we are in a good place.

"We want to build on that this weekend and add a few more points to the board going in to the international break.”

On Wednesday evening, Preston found out they would be welcoming Premier League champions Manchester City to Deepdale in the next round of the Carabao Cup, while Forest will take on Arsenal.

But Neil has promised supporters his players will not take their foot off the gas to save themselves for their upcoming cup clash.

“It will be a very big occasion for everyone at the club but we will focus on that when the time comes, for now our focus is on Nottingham Forest this weekend," he added.
