Nottingham Forest's debt to 'amazing' fans - which they plan to repay against Bolton

Nottingham Forest’s players are desperate to bring success - to repay fans for their impressive backing.

That is the message from Alexander Milosevic, who says the dressing room is inspired by the level of support they have received this season.

The average attendance of 28,169 is the highest at the City Ground in more than 27 years.

While more than 18,000 season tickets have already been sold for next season.

And the final day fixture against Bolton is expected to be another sell-out crowd, as Martin O’Neill’s side look to sign off with a third consecutive victory.

Forest’s last home outing saw them hammer Middlesbrough 3-0 and Milosevic is hoping for another positive performance against already relegated Bolton.

Under-appreciated and underrated - Costel Pantilimon has been a 'top keeper' for Nottingham Forest

“We saw how happy everyone was after the (Middlesbrough) game. That was for our fans. We are proud to wear this shirt and to fight for every point, even though we have ‘nothing’ to play for,” he said.

“It is very, very important that we make it six points from our last two games now, for them.”

Away from home, Forest have averaged a following of more than 2,000 this season and Milosevic says that has not gone unnoticed or unappreciated among the squad.

“When you watch the replays of games on television and you look at the away fans in grounds, you can see a difference,” he said. “When we played at Birmingham away, for example, there were so many of our fans.

“When you look at other teams playing there, the stands are not so full. It looks sometimes as though there are only hundreds of fans there.

“You can see why we should be happy with the backing we get from our fans; because they travel in big numbers.

“That is something I have felt. At grounds, our supporters are amazing.”
