Che Adams has said farewell to his Birmingham City teammates after the club accepted Southampton's improved £16m bid, according to the Mail.
The South Coast club had reportedly seen two previous bids of £12m and £14m turned down earlier in the window.
But Blues have now been forced to surrender their 22-year-old forward, who was in fine form at St Andrew's last season, after the Saints improved their bid.
The former Ilkeston star scored twice against Nottingham Forest last season, as Birmingham took four points from two meetings with the Reds.
Adams joined the Derbyshire side in 2013 after making a name for himself at Oadby Town.
After a season at the New Manor Manor Ground he was spotted by Sheffield United, who brought him to Bramall Lane for a reported six-figure fee.
If reports are correct, he will now embark on his debut season in the Premier League, where he can no longer haunt Forest.
