Nottingham Forest's Arvin Appiah will hope to help England earn second victory in 24 hours in Slovakia

Arvin Appiah will hope to be involved in his second game in the space of 24 hours later today, as England under-18s take on Slovakia.

The Nottingham Forest forward or winger was in the starting line-up as they beat Russia 1-0 in the opening fixture of the eight-team tournament.

Coach Neil Dewsnip is likely to make changes for the game today, with a 22-man squad to call upon and with the flurry of quick-fire fixtures set to continue on Thursday, with another game against Mexico.

Rampant Tyler Walker would be welcome back at Mansfield Town - if Nottingham Forest want to send him out on loan again

England’s next challenge is the game against host country Slovakia today, at the Mestský Stadión in Žiar nad Hronom, which kicks off at 5pm British time.

The Three Lions’ victory was earned by a 25th minute goal from 18-year-old Arsenal forward Tyreece John-Jules.

Appiah, 18, has played at every age group between under-15 and under-19 for his country - and said last week that he feels proud every time he gets to pull on a Three Lions shirt.

“You are playing with players who are technically gifted from other clubs, which helps to improve your game,” he said. “I enjoy it every time I go away with the England squad.

Tom Lockyer is not a current target for Nottingham Forest

“I am humbled and privileged every time I get the call-up. It is good to get the chance. I am going to go there and aim to win the tournament. Hopefully I can get a few goals and we can come back with a trophy.

“Every time I put the shirt on, I feel humbled. I have played for England at many age groups, since I was 15 and it means a lot, every time.”

England: Okonkwo, Daley-Campbell, Ogbeta, Doyle, McDonald, Alese, Appiah, Daly, John-Jules, Ramsey, Sharif. Subs: Williams, Whittaker, Cottrell, Dewhurst, Tulloch, Binks, White, Mola, Mumba, Sibley, Bennett.
