Nottingham Forest's arch-rivals Derby County rocked by alleged drink-drive shame which sees Richard Keogh reportedly injured

Nottingham Forest’s arch-rivals Derby County have been engulfed in more controversy following an alleged car accident involving members of their first team squad earlier this week.

Tom Lawrence and Mason Bennett were both arrested and charged for drink-driving following an incident on the outskirts of the city on Tuesday night, and it has now emerged club captain Richard Keogh was also reportedly involved, and has reportedly suffered injuries.

Captain Keogh, reportedly in the back of Lawrence’s Range Rover Sport, is said to have suffered a fractured wrist and injured knee.

Lawrence and Bennett, a former Notts County loanee, are set to face trial at magistrates court in October following the incident which left Lawrence's Range Rover Sport a wreck, and Keogh injured, according to the Telegraph

The report says Derby boss Philip Cocu will confirm the details of Keogh's injury in today's pre-match press conference, which will be covered live by Derbyshire Live, while the club are also expected to release a statement on the matter.

The report goes on to explain that the Derby stars were on a club-sanctioned night out before leaving in the Range Rover Sport.

County are conducting an internal investigation in a bid to discover what took place before the court hearing on October 15.

Keogh now looks set for a spell on the sidelines having been an ever-present in the Rams side this season, featuring in all eight of Derby's Championship fixtures so far this term, though he was left out of the 3-0 Carabao Cup defeat at Forest last month, a game which Bennett played and Lawrence was on the bench.
