Qatari club Al Gharafa say Nottingham Forest midfielder Adlene Guedioura will have a medical with them in Doha on Wednesday, ahead of a potential transfer.
Reds boss Sabri Lamouchi revealed before the start of the new season that Guedioura had asked to leave the City Ground this summer, after helping Algeria win the Africa Cup of Nations.
“Adlene Guedioura has spoken with me. I was waiting for him to return. But he has asked me to think about new offers he has from a different country,” said Lamouchi.
“I can understand the situation, so the club are doing the job of finding the best way for the club and also for the player."
Guedioura has not played in any of the Reds' opening matches of the new campaign.
